This deck was very effective in its time (that is, just post-Netherworld). Its main focus is to blow up as many sites as possible of both mine and my opponent's. It is actually quite good at doing this. Once a few sites are in my smoked pile, I get pretty big hitters for pretty darn cheap in the Dark Travelers. When these fail, I can usually do fine with just the resource characters and the Entropy Is Your Friend.

One thing that is crucial to understanding this deck is that it is designed specifically to get totally hosed before making a spectacular comeback. It isn't fast at all, and isn't intended to be. Almost every victory it got (and there were a lot) came after a point in the game where I was certain that I was going to lose. While this makes for dramatic games, it also makes for slow games.

Note the focus on comeback: no card costs more than 2 with the possible exception of the Discerning Fires (which I rarely spent more than 2 on anyway). There isn't a single character that requires resources, and only a total of 6 cards that require as many as 2 resources. Additionally, the sites are used for comeback and are typically nigh useless when I'm winning.

Typically, the ideal way to start is to get a couple of sites out and let your opponent do so also. When things begin to get ugly, use the Marks of Fire and Killing Rains to blow up sites before they can get taken. You don't even really need to take sites early, but if the opportunity arises, do so.

One thing I really like about this is that there isn't a single rare in the deck, and only a total of 7 uncommons. This makes it a very reasonable deck to build (except that Pocket Demons are the hardest common to get your hands on). All that and a pretty good win ratio too... On the other hand, I found that it got even better when I replaced most of the sites with rare uniques from the original set- mostly a huge number of Turtle Beaches and a few City Squares.

I call it Beach Babes because it has all female characters (although the Dark Travelers could be taken for either men or women, but that's another story) and because beaches are thought of as hot places where "Burn, Baby, Burn!" seems to make sense.
