Back To A-9 Transport

The rear view shows the 3 drive modules. The sublight engines are model ds12 induced-fusion units, an engine that is very closely based on the venerable ds9 unit. The high-warp engine is a model dw8 recursion-fold system. UCI's solution to the inherent frailty of minifold emitters was to mount a redundant one. Amazingly enough, this makes for a reasonably stable arrangement.
In emergencies, the two minifold emitters can be used together for a third fold level. This gives the ship the highest warp capability available on any non-military production craft, but the chance of emitter failure goes up exponentially when doing so. Although they enabled this ability through the control software, UniCarg very strongly recommends against it except in the most dire of circumstances.
