Here's a better shot of the comm. array. The big dish can rotate a full 360° while deployed. It is typically used for receiving broadcasts. The signal is analyzed, then broadcast again through one of the smaller dishes. The second smaller dish is used to transmit white radio noise to mask the original transmission. These two transmitting dishes are carefully syncronized so that the new transmission is not also masked.
