Back To Starfleet Explorer

  Next >
After the success of its Voyager design, Starfleet Spaceworks launched the Explorer project. The goal was to build a ship with similar range and speed characteristics, layout, and reliability. They succeeded fairly well, but the higher cost of the ship made it soon outclassed by offerings from their competitors. The production run was only 6 years (compared to the 20-year cycle of the Voyager), and there are still at least twice as many Voyagers in service today. The pilots who do own Explorers, however, tend to be very passionate about their ships and will go on about their reliability and ease of repair.
