The Matriarch is equipped with 2 main sublight propulsion systems. The 3 reactive thrusters have vector polarizers for improved power and are used mainly for speed runs. The gravitic accelerator dome mounted below provides very reliable constant cruising power. The fold dishes have a rather unusual mounting arrangement- they are near the back, aimed downward. A clever engineer noticed that most of the components required for a typical groundclearing system are already present in the external assembly for a fold dish. So he added just a few parts, and the dishes can now also be used for burning off vegetation to make a space to land. |
