On the right here is some pretty slick gearing, which I couldn't have done without the help of David Wegmuller. I use the right motor output for two different functions. The little piece on the top right of those gears is the key here. When it turns one way, it drives the elevation mechanism (which is currently engaged). When it turns the other way, the block rotates and engages the firing mechanism instead. On the left is the rotation mechanism, with a shaft coming down from the motor on the far side of the Mana. It drives a set of gears which end with the tiny gear hanging off the bottom driving the outer teeth of the big turntable. |
